This fuel savings calculator uses EPA estimated mileage data to compare and compute potential fuel savings of one vehicle over another. In order to make an "apples to apples" comparison between all vehicles, all pre-2008 mileage estimates will be converted to be consistent with the new 2008 and later estimates, and the converted mileage estimate numbers will be used in all calculations involving a vehicle of a model year prior to 2008.

The data available on this site is for vehicles 1998 model year and newer. If you need to compare vehicles older than 1998, look up the mileage on the EPA Website, and use the Basic Fuel Savings Calculator.
